Explores the biological, chemical, and physical features of lakes and streams, features that are related to general ecological concepts and environmental concerns. Focuses on the invertebrate and fish communities, and the physiological adaptations of species to the aquatic environment. Theoretical approaches and practical techniques will be addressed. Lecture: Three hours. Laboratory: Three hours. Prerequisites: BIOL 15100 or BIOL 27100; CHEM 12100-12200, or CHEM 11700-11800, or CHEM 12300-12600; CHEM 12400 or BIOL27500. 4 credits. (S,O)
