This interdisciplinary, team-taught introduction to the history and culture of Japan incorporates history, art history, literature, geography, religion, and contemporary affairs to create an understanding of Japan from its origins to the present. Prerequisites: One course in the fine arts, humanities, or social sciences; sophomore standing. Students may not earn credit for both ARTH 26800 and HIST 26800. 3 credits. (O)
