Examines interconnections among third world and industrialized nations from both cross-cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives. Issues studied include population pressure, ecological crises, food and famine, domestic peace and national security, and development/underdevelopment. The course also explores alternative models and futures, and emphasizes global citizenship and individual empowerment.
