Semester Hours: 4 Fall, Spring Fundamental laws and principles of mechanics, heat, sound, light, electricity and magnetism. Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: PHYS 11A. Prerequisite or corequisites: MATH 71, 72. Engineering students are exempt from taking 12B, with approval of adviser. Credit given for this course or PHYS 2A, but not for both. Students must take 12B concurrently unless credit has already been received for the equivalent. 12A applies toward the natural science distribution requirement only upon successful completion of the corresponding laboratory course 12B.
