Semester Hours: 3 Fall, Spring Designed for students majoring in areas other than mathematics or science and recommended for elementary education majors prior to taking ELED 128. This course uses a problem-solving approach for exploring the development of the real number system (including the properties of a field), number theory (including modular arithmetic), and geometry. Optional topics include probability and statistics. Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: At least two years of high school mathematics and Math Placement scores as interpreted by advisement. Credit given for this course or MATH 30A, not both. (Formerly MATH 16.)
