Description:

When theorists describe the lives of religious people and the meaning of religion, they often speak of homo religious, religious man. What happens when we move beyond a focus upon men to examine the religious lives of women This course focuses exclusively upon women, located within and enacting a variety of cultures and religions. In doing so, it considers women's agency and oppression, the significance of female (or feminine) religious imagery, and the interweaving of women's religious lives with such imagery.
