POLITICAL SCIENCE 204 - Modern American Conservatism

Institution:
Hobart William Smith Colleges
Subject:
Description:
One of the most significant factors in American politics over the last 40 years has been the rise of the Right in the United States. Although there has long been a tradition of an active Right in the U.S., it was for the most part politically marginalized. Over the last 25 years it has been increasingly successful and influential. This is especially true for the Religious Right or Christian Right. What happens to the post-William Buckley, post-/Ronald Reagan Right will be a major focus of this course.
