Description:

Study of the chemistry of carbon compounds, with an emphasis on both traditional and current concepts. Structure, nomenclature, preparation, reactions, and analysis of organic compounds are covered, using modern theories and reaction mechanisms as a unifying basis. The use of scientific and logical thought patterns is stressed in problem solving. Three hours of lecture per week. Prerequisites: CHEM 22100. 3 credits. (F,Y)
