This is an introductory level jazz technique course designed for the beginning dancer. No prior dance experience is necessary. Students learn to perform basic jazz dance vocabulary through short movement sequences and longer jazz combinations, while developing flexibility, strength, and awareness of rhythmical phrasing, and an understanding of jazz as a system of movement. Emphasis is placed on the exploration and discipline of dance as an art form. ( Spring, offered alternate years)\
