Labor is fundamental to the human condition, and it is also the class name of those who work. Exploring the challenges facing the working class today, and situating them in the history of the labor movement here and abroad, are the objectives of this course. Debating political strategies of the labor movement, different interpretations of how the economy works, and of how racism and sexism have divided both the workplace and labor movement are central to those objectives, as is gaining an understanding of world labor migration past and present.
