Description:

After reviewing biblical and early Christian theologies of the Spirit of God, this course will be devoted to exploring twentieth and twenty-first century theologies of the Spirit - Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant. Mindful of the rise of Spirit-centered - so-called renewal and pentecostal - movements around the world, especially in the southern hemisphere, and of the new attention given to the agency of the Spirit in peoples and traditions of other faiths, we will investigate the major aspects of a theology of the Spirit: the role of the Spirit of God in the work of creation, in christology and trinitarian theology, in the human person, and in the eschatological mission of God in the church and the world. 3.000 Credit Hours 3.000 Lecture hours 0.000 Lab hours 0.000 Other hours Levels: Graduate (Semester) Schedule Types: Lecture Grad Sch of Arts and Sciences College Theology Department
