Description:

This course will examine the art created by the Aztecs, one of the last of the two great pre-Columbian cultures. Holding sway over much of Mexico at the beginning of the 16th century, the Aztec empire was brought to collapse by the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors. We will focus on the primary source, both Aztec and Spanish, as keys to understanding the art. 4.000 Credit Hours 3.000 Lecture hours 0.000 Lab hours 0.000 Other hours Levels: Undergraduate, Post Baccalaureate Schedule Types: Lecture Undergraduate Colleges College Art History and Music Department
