The focus is on building concepts, grasping principles, and learning how consequences of principles and concepts can be quantitatively measured and calculated. Lectures, recitations, and weekly laboratory meetings. The required credit-bearing laboratory PHYS 111L must be taken concurrently with PHYS 111. Offered in the fall only.
