A Chianese, P. Sheridan The goal of this course is to introduce the wealth of chemistry displayed by elements from around the periodic table. Starting with the structure, bonding, spectra, and reactions of classic coordination complexes, the course then deals with the structure and properties of inorganic crystalline solids. The last half of the course deals with the structure, bonding, and reactions of elements from across the periodic table. Registration for CHEM 214 is limited to juniors and seniors who have not taken CHEM 212. Prerequisite: CHEM 102 or CHEM 111. Offered in the spring only.
