L. Stephenson An introduction to the study and practice of painting. Problems related to composition and the formal properties peculiar to this medium are investigated through both prescribed and self-directed studio assignments. Questions related to content and subject matter are explored in studio, class lectures, critiques, and visits by outside lecturers who share their professional expertise in studio art, art history, and art criticism. The student's cost for materials is $150-$350. Seniors may take this course only with permission of instructor.
