Introductory modern language topics. Offered on rotation, introductory modern language topics courses are taught in multiple languages. Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, American Sign, and other languages of particular relevance to the core curriculum may be offered as topics courses. Students will acquire basic vocabulary, sounds, and structures through an emphasis on conversation. Modern language courses also provide an introduction to cultures and cultural studies.
