( 1) A study of the basic materials of music, including time and sound, pitch notation, time classification, note and rest values, time signatures, intervals, the major scale, the minor scale, key signatures, and triads. For music majors, a music theory placement exam will be taken through the Music Ministries Department to identify the need for this course. Credit for this course does not apply toward the Music Ministries Major. May be repeated for up to 3 hours.
