A systematic study of hymns, hymn mechanics, using hymns effectively, and historical perspectives are explored. This study will include music of Protestant churches with a survey of hymns, gospel songs, contemporary praise and worship choruses, and hymnal and chorus book analysis throughout history. Comparisons of evangelical church music history and Nazarene hymn practices are foundational.
