A course focusing on the integration of reading, writing instruction, and the language arts throughout the early elementary curriculum. Emphasis will be placed on the objectives, developmental skills, material, techniques, and the processes of assessing, diagnosing, and correcting reading and writing. Instruction includes a holistic view of literacy development as well as ways to prepare and organize environments that support that development. Prerequisite: Child Development or equivalent course (transfer).
