This course provides students with skills and knowledge to acquire technology systems and the management of their life cycle. Students will learn a structured approach for technology acquisition, vendor selections and negotiation with all the project stakeholders. Students learn the step-by-step practice of vendors' selection to find a suitable vendor's systemat the right price. This course covers the dynamics of how to initiate, create, plan and organize the systems acquisition process. Students will learn to create a Request for Proposal (RFP) and how to review the proposals, and monitor the selection processing the best technology initiative in support of the organizations continuous improvements. The students will explore technology obsolescence and human aspects of technology transition, including the key concepts of change management, communication, and managing resistance as it affects the organization.
