PSY 631C - Practicum for MFT Trainees II

(4 quarter units) A field practicum where students work as MFT trainees at an approved practicum site, under the supervision of a licensed therapist who meets the Nevada State Board of Examiners for MFT and AAMFT requirements for clinical supervisors. Students must also participate in an academic seminar at the University. They must complete 100 hours of psychotherapy experience, which includes 75 hours of face-to-face work with clients over a minimum of three months. The academic seminar meets for 12 two-hour sessions and runs concurrently with the field work. Seminar work focuses on professional and training issues, including case conceptualization and oral, written, and /or videotaped presenta- tions and integration of relevant research. Grading is on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory basis. This threemonth seminar may meet in the late afternoon outside of regular class hours.
