This course is an introduction to the foundations of American education and the profession of teaching. School organization, history and philosophy of education, and legal issues are explored through classroom discussion and direct observation in K-12 school settings. This course includes a 24 hour eightweek field component that requires weekly observations in assigned school settings. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing and completion of ENG 112. Each semester.
