Beginning with a study of the basics of Mayan hieroglyphs, this course explores the mythological foundations of the history, art, architecture, political systems and astronomy of the ancient Maya, including a reading of the Popol Vuh. Includes field trips to Chicago and St. Louis. Prerequisite: Spanish 200. Offered every third fall.
