Focuses on the elderly population's selfmanagement of common chronic illnesses and the associated goal of independent living. Students are required to reflect on their own beliefs regarding the elderly population, explore current evidence-based practice regarding self-management of chronic illness in the elderly, and develop a management plan for clients in an independent-living facility.
