This course introduces the student to positive behavior management techniques for educating children and youth who demonstrate emotional/behavioral problems either in special education or in general education classes; teaching methods and strategies; and classroom and individual student management. It provides the tools for educators to evaluate their interactions with students exhibiting emotional/behavioral problems. It introduces students to the tools necessary to conduct functional assessments and the tools to create functional based behavioral intervention plans. Prerequisite: Special Education 245.
