4 hours Improvisational work in the theatre takes many forms ranging from theatre games to comedy sports to rehearsal exploration. The class will examine and experience the fundamentals of improvisational training. Readings from improvisational theorists and practitioners like Viola Spolin and Keith Johnstone will supplement the in-class investigation and participation in improvisational technique. Open only to first-year students. No prerequisite. (HE)
