Biology of bacteria, viruses, protozoans and other microorganisms, and their interactions with their environment. Includes surveys of microbial adaptation and taxonomy, humanmicrobe relationships, environmental and industrial microbiology. Three class hours and one three-hour laboratory per week. Prerequisite: BIOL 111, 111L, 112, 112L, 113, 113L, 301 (can be concurrently enrolled), or consent of instructor.
