Fundamentals of scientific research including what science is, the scientific method, experimental design, statistical analysis, scientific literature and writing a scientific paper. During the semester, the student will be responsible for conducting a literature search pertaining to an aspect of ongoing research in the department at that time. In addition, a research proposal will be prepared by the student in preparation for participation in the departmental research program the following semester.
