This course provides an occasion for the student to become inundated with a number of literary texts from the Greco-Roman world, to acquire a general sense of religiosity in the period, and to understand the background of the Hellenistic world for comprehending the emergence of Christianity. We will pay special attention to the emperor cult, Greco-Roman philosophies, mystery cults, and novels. Credit Hours: 3
