History and culture are expressed by Mexican individuals and perceived by foreigners through customs and traditions. The goal of this course is to enable students to understand the importance and value that Mexicans place on their social activities and public festivities. Mexican customs and traditions with the values behind them are contrasted and compared with those that are typical of the U.S. society. Guided tours to relevant historical sites supplement the materials studied in class. (Morelia, Mexico. Prerequisite: SPN 202.)
