Description:

"Health is the state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity" (WHO, 1947). The practice of nursing is guided by one's understanding of factors that impact a client's beliefs about health. This course will explore the impact of epidemiological concepts and health promotion theories in the promotion of health in individuals and communities. Prerequisite: junior status or permission of instructor.
