This course will introduce the conceptual, interdisciplinary framework of environmental science by examining its physical, biological, and social components. Topics to be considered will include an inventory of the earth's resources, ecological principles, and the responses of systems to anthropogenic stress; population growth; biodiversity and conservation; and environmental sustainability. Two lectures and one laboratory per week.
