This course will cover concepts of organic and biochemistry at an elementary level. Emphasis will be placed on medical and biological applications of chemical principles. Topics will include acids and bases, alcohols, carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and metabolism. This course meets general education requirements and is designed for non-science majors. Two lectures and one laboratory period per week. Additional course fee is required.
