PS 450 - Practicum I:Interpersonal Skills

The first step in the practicum sequence, it provides an introduction to the theory, skills and processes associated with the helping relationship. In addition, it is designed to aid students in the development of self-awareness in interpersonal relations, and the practice of communication and helping skills. Students spend 8-10 hours a week at an internship site. Must follow with enrollment in PS 460 in the spring. Prerequisites: PS 215, either PS 256 or PS 313, and senior standing Credits: 4 cr.
