An introductory writing course devoted to "the literature of fact," a genre best reflected in the "new journalism" of such writers as John McPhee, Joan Didion and Tom Wolfe. Students will be required to complete weekly reading assignments and respond to them, either through critical analysis or emulation of style. Structure, note-taking, research skills, drafting and revision, and the technical aspects of the written language will be emphasizeCredits: 3 cr. Misc.
