3 (3 + 0) Prerequisite: Minimum performance standard scores on the reading and writing preassessment placement tests This course emphasizes women's changing roles in American history from 1607 to the present. The course covers the nature of women's work and their participation in the family, church, and reform movements in the colonial and republican periods and the 19th and 20th centuries. It includes the emergence of the modern woman in the twentieth century, as well as the reemergence of the women's movement.
