3 (3 + 0) Prerequisite: SPA 3140 with a grade of at least a "B" or Permission of instructorThis course is an introduction to the principal topics in the discipline of translation. The student will translate a variety of texts from Spanish to English and from English to Spanish, discuss and critique translations in class, examine various historical and theoretical concepts of translation, and analyze grammatical, lexical and cultural issues faced by translators. Student is expected to be fluent in both Spanish and English.
