5 (3 + 64) Prerequisite: Successful completion of NURA courses, labs, and clinicals in accordance with the curriculum sequence earning a "C" or betterThis course covers the application of foundational psychiatric nursing concepts and interventions in the care of clients on the mental health/psychiatric illness continuum, This course includes the application of growth and development theory and nursing ethical principles to the care of mental health clients in inpatient and community settings. Under the supervision of experienced clinicians, students plan and provide safe, ethical, principled basic care to selected patients on a psychiatric unit.
