5 (3 + 64) Prerequisite: Successful completion of NURA courses, labs, and clinicals in accordance with the curriculum sequence earning a "C" or betterThis course incorporates theoretical and clinical experiences. The course will provide knowledge of both the art and science of effective and appropriate care for children and their families. Focus will be on health promotion, pathophysiology common to children, appropriate health teaching, and knowledge of how all of the above are utilized in an age-appropriate manner. The clinical portion of this class will emphasize the application of the nursing process to appropriate planning and delivery of nursing care for patients with various disease processes and developmental stages.
