3 (2 + 3) Prerequisite/Corequisite: Successful completion of NURA courses, labs, and clinicals in accordance with the curriculum sequence earning a "C" or betterThis course introduces the student to principles of life transitions and nursing care of older adults. Classroom and clinical experiences emphasize understanding the impact of individual and societal perceptions of aging and the aging process. This course includes cultural, legal, and environmental factors, and the diverse health status found in the older adult. Communication is developed as an essential feature of the care of the older adult in a variety of settings.
