3 (3 + 0) Prerequisite: Successful completion of NURA courses, labs, and clinicals in accordance with the curriculum sequence earning a "C" or betterThis course is designed to familiarize the beginning nursing student with the effect of diseases on body systems. Pertinent biochemical and metabolic processes are correlated with their effects on the cellular structure of the body. Interrelatedness of body systems and response to disease will be explored. Demographics, health disparities, etiology, pathogenesis, and signs and symptoms will be identified as related to various disease processes.
