4 (3 + 2) Prerequisite: Successful completion of NURA courses, labs, and clinicals in accordance with the curriculum sequence earning a "C" or betterClinical pharmacology covers the major principles of pharmacology, drug classifications, and their use in health and the prevention and/or treatment of major disease states, as well as the application of the nursing process incorporating pharmacology. Laboratory sessions provide the opportunity to practice hands-on application of dosage calculation and drug administration and to demonstrate competency necessary to safely administer medications for patients in the clinical setting. Critical thinking and communication processes will be integrated into the learning of basic skills.
