1 (1 + 0) Prerequisite: Junior standing; or permission of instructor This course is designed to increase the students' knowledge in the area of breastfeeding support. This course is taught for students in healthcare related majors or minors and health professionals and the role of the health care practitioner will be emphasized. The course will address barriers to breastfeeding, benefits of breastfeeding for mother, child, and environment, and the role of the health care practitioner in breastfeeding support.
