3 (3 + 0) Prerequisite: Admission to the Accelerated Nursing Program Corequisite: NURA 3010 This course introduces the student to the profession of nursing and the culture of health care. Fundamental values, theoretical foundations, and the rich history of nursing will be explored. Students will begin to develop an understanding of human responses to health and illness. Students will being to apply the nursing process, nursing diagnoses, and critical thinking in developing a plan of care, with an emphasis on communication. This course fosters an understand of the role of informatics in nursing and health care.
