4 (4 + 0) Prerequisite: MTH 3100 and at least 12 additional hours of upper-division mathematics, all with grades of "C" or better, or Permission of instructorThis course, to be taken in the semester immediately prior to MTL 3630, approaches the mathematical concepts outlined in the Colorado Model Content Standards for Mathematics from an advanced perspective. The course uses standards-based curriculum materials as the focus for : (1) exploration of the central ideas of the mathematics curriculum in grades 7 through 12 and the connections among them, and (2) making explicit the connections between content covered in the mathematics courses required for the major and content taught in the school mathematics classrooms.
