3 (2 + 2) Prerequisite: MET 1210 and MET 3000 with grades of "C" or betterBasic principles of plant layout to meet production needs are studied along with the application of materials handling devices to the process. Selection and arrangement of production machinery, product and process layout schemes, techniques of making layouts, and the balance and flexibility of operations are traded to select the preferred layout. Management's role is stressed.
