3 (3 + 0) Prerequisite: JPS 1020 or equivalent This is the first semester of a two-semester intermediate Japanese language sequence specifically designed to strengthen grammatical skills and proficiency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing. The course will also introduce students to a sampling of social, cultural and literary topics central to the understanding of Japan and the Japanese people.
