4 (2 + 4) Prerequisite: IND 2450 and IND 3410 Students gain knowledge of design for production criteria by developing a product for limited manufacture in a laboratory setting. Experience is gained in planning, designing and constructing jigs and fixtures for mass production. The design process is based upon real world new product development principles. Students learn fundamentals of industrial production, workplace and consumer safety, and entrepreneurship.
