3 (3 + 0) Prerequisite: HSP 1040 and HSP 2030 This course provides a detailed study of specific addictive behavior patterns and the most common treatment methods. The range of addictions studied includes a variety of non-substance- using behaviors such as gambling and eating disorders as well as addictions involving substances. This course will help students clarify a theory of addiction, gain knowledge about the etiology of specific addictions and be introduced to current treatment approaches utilized in the field.
