3 (3 + 0) This course is designed to provide students with an overview of the diverse field of sports medicine and a survey of common activity related injuries. Topics include injuries to the upper extremity, lower extremity, head, spine, and internal organs. The athletic injury assessment process and treatment and therapeutic protocols will be discussed. This course is one of the gateway courses to the Athletic Training Education Program but open to all students.
